| Who Will Be In Class With You? At Oxford Graduate School we need to take six on-campus residency weeks. These are identified as Core 1 through Core 6. OGS offers the complete set of six Cores, three times per year. When you come to attend one of these Core weeks, you can usually stay for two of them in the same visit. For those of us who travel long distances to attend school, this permits us to reduce our travel expenses. Part of the experience of attending a Core week is getting to know the other students in class with you all week. Generally speaking you will be with those same folks for about 12 to 13 hours per day for the whole week. But, because this distance learning doctoral program is self-paced and in many ways self-directed, you will probably be meeting many other students for the first time at each Core week you attend. And, you may only see some of these students one time in all your residencies, seminars, and ceremonies with the school. I'm looking forward to meeting new folks and learning about them and their outcomes from thus program. How will you be affected by having many new faces at every one of your residencies, seminars, and ceremonies? |
