Graduate Student Netbooks

It seems to me that as I have transitioned into using my netbook, I have changed some of my usage habits.

In the past, when I went to the library to study, I would take my laptop with me. But, because it is pretty big (I have a 17" model), I have to use a large bag to carry it. And, because it is a big heavy bag, I would decide to carry it with me only for times I really intend to use it for study.

Now that I have a netbook (with about 6 hour battery life), I have more of a tendency to carry it with me more often and to more places than just the Library. So, when I'm at the mall, sitting in the food court, I pull out mt netbook and check my email (all the food courts around here have WiFi).

I only go to the school campus a couple of times per year, so I'm looking forward to classroom work with just the netbook and not the laptop with all the associated weight and added equipment.
