| Answers: My husband is getting out of the navy and i'm scared? My husband is getting honorably discharged from the Navy after 5 years this fall. He is getting let out a few months early to attend school full time. I met my husband while he was in the navy and this is all we have known as a couple. My husband does not enjoy being in the navy at all and insists on getting out and not looking back, I wanted him to try to look at things from a different prospective such as the good opportunities for promotion, free health care, job security etc. He insists on leaving and in the end it is his decision; I just wish he would see that it affects us as a family. I am 22 and he is 24. I am also going to school full time this upcoming fall in order to get a degree. I have no education beyond a high school diploma so I only can make minimum wage. What makes me nervous more than anything is fiances. We have a lease on our apartment, bills, car payment etc. He will be getting a housing allowance which will cover the rent but we have lots of other expenses to cover. I just don't know how we can get by. He insists he will do whatever it takes but I cannot help but worry. Does anyone have any experience or advice? obviously we are not planning on living off the GI Bill or I would not be asking this question. a submariners life is not for everyone and my husband is in no way undisciplined he is trying to better our lives.. I am just nervous about making the ends meet on our journey and looking for some advice. thank you |
