| Video: APS students discuss Obama's education address president obama's message has been delivered to america's school children. the president spoke to kids directly at wakefield high school-- in arlington virginia. the goal? get kids to realize-- the value of education-- hard work-- and getting a diploma. parents both supported-- and spoke out-- against the speech ahead of time. but the message was non-partisan. the story of america isn't about people who quit when things got tough. it's about people who kept going, who tried harder, who loved their country too much to do anything less than their best. he also asked all children to set their own educational goals-- and to not grow up believing the only way to be successful-- is to be an athlete- musician- or reality tv star. because of the controversy surrounding president obama's speech today-- some aps parents didn't allow their kids to watch the speech. austin reed is minute thumbnail 12:02 pm live at polk middle school in the south valley -- where he got reactions from kids... austin here at this school over 95 percent of the students watched the obama speech this morning in ms. archuleta's eighth grade class the kids listened and watched the president deliver his 20 minute speech .... most of them say it was nice to hear from their leader.... and felt there was no political agenda involved.
